Sakurai is collaborating once again with the same team behind the beloved Super Smash Bros. series, showcasing the continuity of talent and creativity in development. He disclosed that he received the request to propose Kirby Air Riders as early as July 2021, while he was busy with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s DLC.

Importantly, the game is being developed by Bandai Namco Studios, marking a significant partnership that goes back over a decade. While details are still under wraps, Sakurai hinted at future possibilities, including potential DLC.
