SNK is revitalizing classic fighting games from its 1990s arcade legacy with the NEOGEO Premium Selection line, starting with Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle. This exciting release uniquely features an exclusive 2v2 four-player mode, previously available only in select arcades, which many players have never experienced.

In an interview, Laurent Vernezy, SNK’s Retro Game Development Manager, highlighted the game’s fast-paced gameplay, iconic characters, and easy-to-learn mechanics, making it a perfect title for both veterans and newcomers alike. The modern version will include online rollback netcode for seamless online play, alongside robust features like practice mode, lobbies for up to nine players, a jukebox, and a gallery of unique art.

Currently, Kizuna Encounter is available on Steam with a special first-week discount, bringing it down to $15. While it initially launches on Steam, SNK is considering expanding to consoles in the future, inviting fan feedback on potential titles to include in this exciting revival of gaming history.
