Capcom has announced an important update regarding their community artwork contest for Street Fighter 6, which has drawn participation for the second consecutive year. However, one initial winning entry has been disqualified for violating contest rules, specifically around original creative submissions.
Capcom’s statement indicated that this decision follows scrutiny over the potential use of generative AI in the disqualified artwork. Contest rules clearly stipulate that submissions must be entirely original and not previously published, with generative AI explicitly banned.
While the character associated with the disqualified submission is believed to be Kimberly, Capcom has opted to create a brand-new artwork of their own for her, rather than selecting another entry from the community.
This new illustration, alongside the other winning pieces, will be available for all Street Fighter 6 players post-event, reinforcing the commitment to originality and creativity in the franchise.
